Got the positions of the outlying sources for G16.7.
Compared the positions of the sources on the central chip with 2mass. Of the 9 sources detected on the chip, 7 had possible matches in the IR within 5 arcseconds; they all had possible matches within 9 arcseconds.

Hi Emily--just to reiterate. The 2MASS/Chandra matches should be much better than 5'', although as you know the Chandra positions do degrade as you move away from the observational axis. So I guess the initial astrometry should focus just on sources that are on the same chip as the SNR.
